It's been a crazy week here in the Ashley Library!
It all started with Kindergarten Checkout! This is truly one of my favorite things about the start of school - watching each kiddo choose their first book to take home with them. Some know their book immediately; snatching it up in a hug and squealing variations of "I want this one!", like they've just seen an old friend for the first time in years. Others are more cautious. They take their time and really look for a book that speaks to them.

The rest of our weekly kiddos sat down to remember their library numbers! We value independence and problem solving here in the Ashley Library.
Self Check In and Out is the first thing we learn how to do as a library patron and our library number is key. We also get to talk about personal information, information safety, and different parts of the computer! It's a really fun day!
