I just finished reading Cece Bell's latest book, El Deafo, and I was hooked from the first page! This autobiography is funny, surprising, and best of all - it's a graphic novel!

El Deafo is the story of a little girl who loses her hearing at a very young age because of a serious illness. Cece is then saddled with a very large, very powerful hearing aid that might help her hear, but doesn't help her make many friends. I loved this book because we all have things that we wish we could change about ourselves, so relating to Cece was not hard at all!

You should pick up El Deafo today - you will find yourself rolling on the floor when Cece finds out just how powerful her new Hearing Aid is and cringing when..... well you'll just have to read it to see!

So go on - read!
