Kristen Whittaker
Hi! My name is Kristen Whittaker. I grew up in a small town in East Texas and, after graduating with my degree in English I jumped right into my Masters of Library Science. In 2013, I married my awesome husband, Mark, and we loaded up the truck and moved to Plano!
I began teaching English for Liberty High School and for Lone Star High School the next year. I began my journey as a librarian in 2015 and am so excited to begin my eighth year here at Ashley!
When I am not at school, you can find me hanging out with my hubby watching really old TV shows or playing with my puggle, Maxwell!

About the Library
The library is no longer the quiet, tidy place of your past! It is alive and shouting out with resources, technology, research strategies, and authentic learning experiences that students crave to make learning complete.
As a Librarian, my job is to teach students strategies for finding the information they want, how to use that information ethically, and how to navigate the myriad of resources available to them in order for them to reach their own learning goals.
I also work to ensure that each student at Ashley is flooded with programming that will instill a love of reading, exploring, and creativity. Come in and join us on our adventure!
