Ah the first week of school! New and old faces...books flying off the shelves....and Pokemon loose in the library?? That's odd - I don't think I left them there at the end of last year! Regardless, they've been caught all over the library this week as third, fourth, and fifth graders came in to play Pokemon Library during their orientation time.
At each orientation stop, groups would learn a little about a section of the library, answer a question, and then capture their Pokemon by taking a quick group selfie. We reminded ourselves about how collections were arranged, the amount of books one may check out, and even learned about new genres of books!
Afterwards, groups could create a PicCollage of their group selfies (groupies??) to be sent to their teacher! Who doesn't want their best duck face, peace sign, or 'dab' sent back to 'Teach' for proof of awesomeness??

We didn't always catch every critter in the place, but we got to know each other and the library - and isn't that pretty much the point??
